This Earth Among the Stars

I don't often work on religious symbols. It's just not my habit, they don't appeal to me as much as personally chosen symbols do. However, I have a dear friend who has recently wandered back into my life, and he's started down the path of paganism, from a 'because we say so' religion to a 'because it feels true' one. I support him in his search, because I tend to think that the truth you find is more meaningful than the truths that others give you, and if it brings you joy without harming others, then all's well.

He's a very earthy sort, and I'd found these green glass stars that I thought would be perfectly suited to a project like this. It's quite large, but I rather think it suits him that way. The overgrown look that this ended up with also suits him, I think.

If I weren't so dadblasted tired, I'd have a much better write-up for this, I'm quite pleased with this, but I spent the entirety of last night finishing a set of wedding jewelery, so I'm at less than full function right now. Will have further photos soon enough (still not saying tomorrow ) including the wedding set and hairpins!
